St. Francis Church which is the landmark in the Fort Kochi. Fort Cochin, this Church was originally dedicated to Santo Antonio, the patron Saint of Portugal. It was built by the Portuguese in 1510. It is the first church to have been built in the new European influenced tradition To spice up your tour we will take you to the most attractive feature of Kerala tour, the Spice market, from where you can buy some flavor of South India for home.

Evening Kathkali Dance Show: Evening we will visit the Kathkali Dance. Kathkali dance is the one of most famous dance performance in Kerala. Kathakali draws its theme from the wealth of Indian mythology and folklore. Expressions of face and eyes hold the key to perfection. Unique among the Indian dance forms, Kathakali ranks high among the Indian dance forms. Noted for its archaic costumes, weird make up, the elaborately painted faces often mistaken for masks and grand headgears, Kathakali is perhaps the only dance form in India in which the masculine aspect of the dance is preserved in its elemental vigor.

After the breakfast drive to Munnar. Upon arrival check into Hotel.

Your eyes will have little time to rest while in Munnar. Everywhere you look there is another natural wonder to behold. Today Kerala Tour Itinerary is devoted to sightseeing in and around Munnar. Enjoy panoramic views of Anamudi, the highest peak of South India at 2695 m, is visible from Munnar. Visit the Christ Church and proceed for wildlife watching at Eravikulam National Park (16 km).

Madupetty Dam, a famous picnic spot for boating and horse riding en route to Top Station.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the picturesque locales of the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala. The Periyar Lake, an artificial lake formed due to construction of a dam in 1895 AD adds to the beauty of the park. The lake is a permanent source of water for the wildlife.

Here the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grass lands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.

Evening boat ride at Lake Periyar. This is most enjoyable part of seeing the wildlife around the lake in boat. From the safety of a boat you can witness herds of wild elephants coming down to water and swim

Morning we will take Elephant Ride.

Afternoon we will enjoy the Spice Plantation Tour. The spice plantation in Thekkady is a prime attraction of this beautiful land. Though sprawling tea estates cover much of the landscape of Thekkady, plantations of cardamom, rubber, vanilla and coffee are also aplenty. There are various kinds of spices cultivated in Thekkady. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper. But there is a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation in Thekkady

Periyar – Kumarakom

Morning drive to Kumarakom. Upon arrival check into Hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the backwater.

Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit. The Vembanad Lake, the largest backwater in Kerala, is habitat for many marine and freshwater fish species and it teems with Karimeen (Pearl spot), shrimp and prawns.

Morning enjoy the backwaters.

Afternoon drive to Mararikulam. Upon arrival check into Hotel. Mararikulam is a beach village in the district of Alappuzha. Mararikulam is the fertile land of communism and it has a very beautiful beach which is known by the name Marari Beach or Mararikulam beach. There are two village panchayts for this village, Mararikulam South and Mararikulam North.

Varkala – Kovalam (75 Kms) (1.5 Hrs)

Morning drive to Kovalam.

Upon arrival check into hotel. Kovalam is a beach town on the Arabian Sea in Kerala. Kovalam has three crescent shaped beaches separated by rocky outcroppings. The shallow waters stretching for hundreds of metres are ideal for swimming. The beaches have steep palm covered headlands and are lined with shops that offer all kinds of goods and services. Kovalam was among the most prominent tourist spots in India during the hippy era. It still has a high status among tourists, who arrive mostly from Europe and Israel. Kovalam is finding a new significance in the light of several Ayurvedic salons, and recuperation and regeneration resorts which provide a wide variety of Ayurvedic treatments for tourists.
