Day 01: Arrival / Cochin

At the airport, you will see that Tree Trunk Travel representative is waiting to give a warm welcome and later he will escort you to your hotel, previously reserved.

Day 02: Cochin
Cochin

This day, designed as per our Kerala itinerary, will begin with sightseeing in the historic city, Kochi.

Morning we will visit Jewish Synagogue (closed on Saturday) built in 1568. when the Jews settled in Mattancherry, after their expulsion from Rahabi, who built a clock tower and paved the floor synagogue with hand painted willow pattern tiles brought from China

St. Francis Church which is the landmark in the Fort Kochi. Fort Cochin, this Church was originally dedicated to Santo Antonio, the patron Saint of Portugal. It was built by the Portuguese in 1510. It is the first church to have been built in the new European influenced tradition To spice up your tour we will take you to the most attractive feature of Kerala tour, the Spice market, from where you can buy some flavor of South India for home.

Evening Kathkali Dance: Evening we will visit the Kathkali Dance. Kathkali dance is the one of most famous dance performance in Kerala. Kathakali draws its theme from the wealth of Indian mythology and folklore. Expressions of face and eyes hold the key to perfection. Unique among the Indian dance forms, Kathakali ranks high among the Indian dance forms. Day 03: Cochin – Munnar (130 Kms) (03 Hrs)

Morning drive to Munnar. Your eyes will have little time to rest while in Munnar. Everywhere you look there is another natural wonder to behold. The luscious greens of the dense mountain foliage provide the perfect backdrop for the endless wonders that can be seen in the area. Waterfalls, local plantations and European architecture provide a textured sightseeing wonderland like few others.

Day 04: Munnar
Munnar

 Today Kerala Tour Itinerary is devoted to sightseeing in and around Munnar. Enjoy panoramic views of Anamudi, the highest peak of South India at 2695 m, is visible from Munnar. Visit the Christ Church and proceed for wildlife watching at Eravikulam National Park (16 km).

Madupetty Dam, a famous picnic spot for boating and horse riding en route to Top Station.

 Morning drive to Alleppey to board the houseboat.

Alleppey houseboat is the only medium to explore the scenic beauty of the backwaters, which are mesmerizing and offers you treat to the eyes. The houseboat in Alleppey slowly floating over the scenic backwater takes you to the world of wonderments passing through the scintillating natural beauty, terrific churches and emerald green paddy fields that offers sight that one can hardly forget.

Day 06: Alleppey / Periyar

After breakfast drive to Periyar. Upon arrival check in to hotel.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the picturesque locales of the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala. The Periyar Lake, an artificial lake formed due to construction of a dam in 1895 AD adds to the beauty of the park. The lake is a permanent source of water for the wildlife.

Here the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grass lands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.

Evening we will enjoy the boat ride at Lake Periyar. This is most enjoyable part of seeing the wildlife around the lake in a boat. From the safety of a boat you can witness herds of wild elephants coming down to water and swim.

Day 07: Periyar / Madurai (145 Kms) (05 Hrs)

Morning we will enjoy the Elephant ride.

Afternoon we will take the tour of Spice Plantation tour. The spice plantation in Thekkady is a prime attraction of this beautiful land. Though sprawling tea estates cover much of the landscape of Thekkady, plantations of cardamom, rubber, vanilla and coffee are also aplenty. There are various kinds of spices cultivated in Thekkady. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper. But there is a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation in Thekkady

Later drive to Madurai. Upon arrival check in to hotel.

Morning proceed for sightseeing of Madurai– visit Sri.Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple,Thirumalai Nayak Palace,Thirupparankundram Temple.

Evening witness the closing ceremony at Meenakshi Temple.

Day 09: Madurai – Trichy – Tanjore (140 Kms) (03 Hrs)

Morning drive to Tanjore enroute visitTrichy. Tiruchirappalli is one of the oldest inhabited cities inTamil Nadu, its earliest settlements dating back to the second millennium BC. Uraiyur, which served as the capital of the Early Cholas from the third century BC to the third century AD. Trichy situated on the banks of river Kaveri and fourth largest city in the state was a citadel of the early Cholas, which later fell to Pallavas.

Day 10: Tanjore – Mahabalipuram (290 Kms) (05 Hrs)
Tanjore – Mahabalipuram

Morning proceed for the city tour of Tanjore. Tanjore is an important center of South Indian art and architecture. Most of the Great Living Chola Temples which are UNESCO World Heritage Monuments are located in and around Thanjavur. The foremost among the Great Living Chola temples, the Brihadeeswara Temple, is located in the center of the city. Thanjavur is also the home of the Tanjore painting, a painting style unique to the region. The city is an important agricultural center located at the heart of the region, known as the Rice bowl of Tamil Nadu.

Day 11: Mahablipuram

Mahabalipuram was a 7th century port city of the South Indian dynasty of the Pallavas, around 60 km south from the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The name Mamallapuram is believed to have been given after the Pallava king Narasimhavarman I, who took on the epithet Maha-malla (great wrestler), as the favourite sport of the Pallavas was wrestling.

 Today full day we will explore this amazing city. We will start the tour from to visit the Caves. There are nine rock – cut temples. Later we will visit the Arjuna’s Penane & Five Rathas – There are five monolithic temples, each created in a different style.

Morning drive to Chennai enroute visit to Kanchipuram.

Kanchipuram is the famous temple city in the Indian state of Tamilnadu. It is also known by its former names Kanchiampathi, Conjeevaram, and the nick name ‘the city of Thousand Temples’. Kanchipuram is considered one of the seven holiest cities to the Hindus of India. In Hinduism, a kṣetra is a sacred ground, a field of active power, a place where moksha, final release can be obtained. We will explore some famous Temple of Kanchipuram. If you are interested in shopping then you will get one of the best silk sari in Kanchipuram.

Upon arrival check into hotel. Located on the Coromandel Coast off the Bay of Bengal, it is a major commercial, cultural, and educational centre in South India, while the port of Chennai is the second largest port in India.

Morning we will start the city tour of Chennai. We will visit National Art Gallary, St Thomas Mount (Little Mount Shrine), Kapaleshwar Temple, Fort St. George
